Crawford County Catholics

There are two Roman Catholic Parishes of Crawford County, St. Elizabeth in Robinson and Our Lady of Lourdes in Oblong. Both pastored by Fr. David Beagles.

Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist

Sunday service times are 9 a.m. for Bible study classes for all ages. Worship times are 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Pastor J.D. Branson’s Sunday messages are available on Facebook at 10:15 a.m.

The Brotherhood men’s group meets the first Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. for breakfast and a devotion. The group usually completes a church or community project during this time. All men are welcome to attend.

The church women’s group, Betty’s Women on a Mission (WMU), meets the second Tuesday of every month at the church. Snacks and social time is 5:30-6 p.m. and the meeting is at 6 p.m.

Thursdays at 6 p.m. Branson leads a Bible study which can be viewed on Facebook.

Oblong First Baptist

Sunday will be Discipleship training for all ages at 6 p.m.

Family Fun Night focusing on the Illinois Mission Study will be Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. 

Sept. 26 will be the next WOM meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Church times are Sundays at 9:30 a.m. for Bible study followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. Evening services are at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Olive Branch Baptist

The church is three miles north of Annapolis. Brother Randy Nave is the pastor. 

WMU/Brotherhood is Sunday.

Sunday school is at 9 a.m. followed by worship 10 a.m. Evening service is at 6 p.m. dismissed for picnic. 

On Sept. 20, Bible study is at 7 p.m.

Dogwood Prairie and Seed Chapel United Methodist

Service at Dogwood Prairie 5.5 miles north of Oblong, begin at 9 a.m. with Sunday school at 10 a.m. Jon Dart will share the announcements, Rondel Lee Boyd will  lead the songs and Sherry Boyd will play the piano.

Service at Seed Chapel United, 4.5 miles of downtown Oblong, will begin at 10:15 a.m. with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Roanna Wartsbaugh and Randy King will be leading the songs and Sheri Alexander will be playing the piano.

Bible study is Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. with a study of animals of the Bible: what they represent, what they symbolize and what they teach people. 

Weekly reflections are Thursday at 7 p.m. via Facebook Live, www.facebook.com/dogwoodprairie.

Monday at noon, there will be a County Prayer at Cross Street Station Park.

On either Friday or Saturday, Dogwood Prairie will be having a work day. Details will be posted on the church Facebook page.

Sunday, there will be a service at Brookstone Estates at 2 p.m.
