Lawrence County Youth Football kicked off its inaugural season by participating in a preseason “Jamboree” at Palestine Saturday (Aug. 6). The league has players from both Lawrenceville and Red Hill school districts competing on the teams, which include 7th/8th, 5th/6th and 3rd/4th. Above, the 7th/8th grade team is pictured, while below is the 5th/6th grade team after they finished competing in Palestine. Lawrence County will open the regular season Saturday (Aug. 13), when they host Newton at Ed Loeb Field in Lawrenceville. The 5th/6th grade game is slated to kick off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 7th/8th grade game around 7:30 p.m. Contributed photos
