LHS track teams 3rd at Marshall


Points were hard to come by for Lawrenceville High School’s track teams in three-team meets at Marshall Monday.

The Indians and Lady Indians combined for just 25 total points in the two meets and each of them finished third.

In the boys’ meet, Lawrenceville scored 16 points, while Marshall won with 74 points and Neoga was second with 40.

Tanner Waller led LHS by finishing first in the 100 (12.30) and 200 (25.00), while Zaidan Morrison finished third in the 400 (1:05), as did the 3200 relay team of Braydan Morrison, Aiden Crawford, Ethan Lake and Simon Crawford (10:43).

Also for LHS, Braydan Morrison was fourth in the 1600 (5:26), Kollin Ramos finished fourth in the 800 (2:28) and fifth in the 400 (1:17), Aiden Secrest was sixth in the 100 (13.80) and 200 (29.40), Simon Crawford was sixth in the 1600 (5:41), Aiden Crawford was seventh in the 800 (2:35), Zaidan Morrison was eighth in the 100 (14.40) and Lake was eighth in the 800 (2:41).

In the girls’ meet, Lawrenceville managed just nine points, while Marshall won with 92 and Neoga finished second with 37.

Top finishers were the 400 relay team of Aglae Grignard, Emma Johns, Delaney Bach and Beth Ruppel and the 800 relay team of Grignard, Bach, Natalie Smallwood and Johns, who each finished second with times of 1:02 and 2:25, respectively.

Ruppel was also fourth in the 100 (15.00), while Reese Tracy finished fifth in the 800 (3:29) and sixth in the long jump (9-6), Smallwood was fifth in the shot put (19-10.75), Luci Monroy was sixth in the shot put (19-9.5) and seventh in the discus (34-9.25), Brilynn Siegle was sixth in the discus (36-8.25) and seventh in the shot put (17-4.75), Johns was seventh in the 100 (16.10) and ninth in the long jump (6-0.75) and Bach was seventh in the long jump (8-2.5) and ninth in the 100 (17.00).

Lawrenceville is scheduled to compete at Flora Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
