NMS boys split games at Red Hill

Two games ended with similar scores, but one resulted in a win and the other a loss for Nuttall Middle School’s boys’ basketball teams Thursday.

NMS split games at Red Hill, winning the seventh grade game 41-22 and losing the eighth grade game 43-27.

In the seventh grade game, NMS trailed 7-6 after one quarter, but grabbed a 16-15 lead at halftime, then outscored Red Hill 15-2 in the third quarter to extend the advantage to 31-17. NMS then won the fourth quarter 10-5 to seal the win.

Dagg Thompson led NMS with 14 points, while Jetson Hoalt tossed in 11, Aaron Truitt scored 10 and Maverick Deckard, Felix Reynolds and Cooper Stark each netted two.

In the eighth grade game, NMS fell behind 17-4 after one quarter, then trailed 22-14 at halftime and 36-22 after three quarters and was outscored 7-5 in the fourth quarter to reach the final margin.

Jaxon Hires led NMS with 16 points, while Jason Tingley scored five, Joel York netted four and Kaden Pasero added two.

Robinson is next scheduled to play at Lawrenceville Monday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m.
