OES volleyball splits with Martinsville


One win and one loss were the end results for Oblong’s junior high volleyball teams against Martinsville Monday night.

OES scored a three-set win in the seventh grade match, 25-12, 22-25, 25-13, while losing the eighth grade match in three sets, 20-25, 25-11, 10-25.

In the seventh grade match, Lydia Moody led OES with 12 points, including five aces, four digs and one kill, while Ava Pfeifer posted eight points with two aces, four kills, four digs and three assists. Ever Glosser contributed seven points with two aces, seven kills and one assist, Della Haberlin totaled seven points with two aces, five assists, four kills and one dig, Addie Plummer collected three points with one ace and three digs, Phoebe Miller recorded two points with one ace and four kills, Keirstin Holt tallied two points, two kills, one assist and one dig and Keyla Wolfe added one point.

In the eighth grade match, Grace Miller led OES with 10 points, including five aces, six kills and one assist, while Brylee Murray totaled nine points with five aces, seven kills, five assists and five digs. Pfeifer contributed four points with one ace, seven assists, two kills and two digs, Landee Clark posted four points and four digs, Glosser recorded three points Plummer four points and one assist, Brooke Kintner collected one point, two kills and two digs and Haberlin netted one point and one kill.

Oblong is scheduled to play host to Robinson Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
