Singpiration

Singspiration at First United Methodist, 12th and Maple in Lawrenceville, will be held on Sunday, June 20 with Floyd Wood bringing the program. Wood is the preacher at the May Chapel Church.

The service begins at 6 p.m. Abbey Brian will emcee the service and Lovell Baldwin will play piano. Burl Shinkle will give the devotion.

The strings, with Jeannie Borden on cello; Susan Fischer on ukulele; and Esther Brumley on violin; will play for the Prelude and Hymns.

Interim pastor Rev. Tom Kramer will deliver the sermon at the 8 a.m. service on Sunday, June 20. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. All are invited to attend. During the pandemic, the church is following suggestions using masks, social distancing and sanitizing.

Rev. Jeff Shick will deliver the sermon entitled, “A Tale of Two Stories” based upon the scripture from Proverbs 22:1-6 at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, June 20. The music will be led by Jonathan Clark. There is an extended session for children through the fifth grade. Disposable communion cups can be picked up in the Narthex on the way to the pews. A plate will be on the same table for offering. Masks are optional and social distancing should be followed.

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 20. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Marble bringing the message from Isaiah 37:14-20 with Hezikiahs Prayer. Lois Moore will lead the singing while Virginia Berry plays the piano. Gayle Potts will lead the Kids Worship. The Stewards will hold a short meeting after worship. Fathers will be honored during the service.

Lawrenceville Free Methodist

Morning worship will be held at 9:30 a.m. in-person and on Facebook Live on Sunday, June 20. Fathers will be honored during the service and the monthly missions offering will be received. The new Sunday school class that discusses the morning sermon will resume in the sanctuary.

The Celebrate Recovery women’s study group meets on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Family Camp at the Wabash Park Campground and Retreat Center is scheduled for July 19-25.

Vacation Bible School is planned for the week before school begins in the fall.

Donations for the rummage sale on Saturday, Sept. 25 can be brought to the church.

Rev. Bob Miner will deliver the message titled, “Dealing with our Fears” on Sunday, June 20. The scripture readings are from I Samuel 15:34-16:13 and Mark 4:35-41. Debbie Whitmer is the liturgist. Sandy Paddock and Sally Kirkwood are the ushers. Bob Alka is the sound operator and Jan Schultz is the organist. There is a staffed nursery during the service. Hand sanitizer and masks are available by the entrance door. Social distancing should be followed and masks are optional.

The worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. The radio broadcast on WAKO 910 AM and 99.3 FM is heard at that time. The radio broadcast is also streamed live on WAKOradio.com.

Worship begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 20. Lou Bean will be the greeter. Sherrie Zeigler will be in the nursery. Roger Kiser will offer scripture and prayer for communion (I Corinthians 11:23-29). Single serve cups are located at the entrance. Jane Benson’s lesson for children’s church will be on “A Father’s Wisdom.” Sunday school begins at 10:15 a.m. and offers classes for all ages.

The missions committee will meet on Monday, June 21 at 6 p.m.

The ladies prayer group will meet on Tuesday, June 22 at noon. The evening prayer meeting will not be held this week due to the Red Hill preaching rally in Robinson.

The High School Encounter will swim at Stewart and Delight’s at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25.

Anyone interested in attending Oil Belt or Camp Illiana should see Minister Root regarding financial assistance.

Father’s Day worship service begins at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary on Sunday, June 20. Sunday school for all ages immediately follows the service. Pastor Deetta Gaither will bring the message titled, “More than Conquerors” based on II Corinthians 6:1-13.

The women’s Goal Diggers Bible study is on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

The men’s fellowship breakfast is on Wednesdays at 6 a.m.

The church picnic is scheduled for Sunday, June 27 at noon at Lanterman Park.

Fran Trascritti, leadership team administrative directive, will be the guest speaker on Sunday, June 20. Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship is at 10:30 a.m. The worship service is live streamed on the Facebook page.

At 5 p.m. on Sunday evenings, there is a Bible study to study the book of Daniel.

On Wednesdays, there is a fellowship meal before Bible studies. The meal begins at 5:30 p.m. and Bible studies begin at 6:15 p.m. There is a women’s Bible study, a young adult/family study and a general Bible study.

Loren Crask will be speaking on Sunday, June 20 during the morning worship service. The title of her message is, “Follow the Father.” There will be no Kingdom Harbor this Sunday. A breakfast will be held before the morning service to honor fathers and their families from 7:30-8:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

There will be no evening CLC or youth groups due to Father’s Day.

A Society meeting will be held on Thursday, June 24 with the time and place to be announced.

The church is collecting $20 donations for cases of toothpaste for Kid’s Shopping Day.

The Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry Team is collecting toothbrushes, yo-yos and kids underwear (sizes 4-12).
