The City of Sumner is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Maintenance Worker II in the City's Maintenance Department. This entry level position works cooperatively with all divisions of the Department performing a variety of tasks. All applicants must be able to learn and master new skills quickly, follow directions and work individual, as well as alongside team members.
The position is a 40-hour work week plus overtime (as needed), health insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be based on level of experience with starting pay at $15.
Applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and a resident of Lawrence County. (If outside of County, must become a resident of Lawrence County within 180 days of employment). Applicant must have a valid driver's license.
This job often requires extensive physical strength and endurance including the ability to stand, bend, pull, push, kneel, regularly lift more than 75 pounds at any time, and to withstand exposure to the elements.
Application can be picked up at the Sumner City Hall, 129 E. South Ave., Sumner, IL 62466 during the hours of 8 AM - 4 PM Monday thru Friday. Applications will be accepted until 4 PM, Friday, August 6, 2021.
