Five Lawrence County football players selected for all-star games

TERRE HAUTE –– A handful of former local high school football players will put the pads on one final time next weekend, as they compete in the annual Wabash Valley Football Coaches Association All-Star Game. Five recent graduates were selected to play in the game – three from Lawrenceville High School and two from Red Hill High School.

Recent Lawrenceville High School graduate Ryan Schultz was one of 144 players across the state of Illinois chosen to compete in the annual Illinois High School Shrine Game in Bloomington over the weekend. Schultz suited up for the Blue Team and played six minutes, recording one tackle. The Blue Team would lose the game to the Red Team, 11-7. Schultz will suit up one last time this weekend, as he will participate in the annual Wabash Valley Coaches Association All-Star Game in Terre Haute on Saturday. Contributed photo

BLOOMINGTON –– Recent Lawrenceville High School graduate Ryan Schultz had the opportunity to put his helmet and shoulder pads back on over the weekend, as he was one of 144 players across the state to be chosen to play in the game, which raises money to help provide outstanding medical care for children at the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

LAWRENCEVILLE –– Just over two dozen players from Lawrence County Little League were chosen recently to represent the league in a pair of all-star tournaments coming up next month.
