A pair of ois Eastern Community College District trustees are running unopposed to gain six more years on the IECC board.
Brenda Culver, Noble, and Gary Carter, Fairfield, filed petitions for re-election to the IECC board. The six-year terms of the two incumbents expire this year.
Meanwhile, a  Mt. Carmel man who has been filling a vacancy on the board is seeking election for another two years as a trustee in the April 4 consolidated election.
Roger Browning filed petitions for election to an unfinished term left vacant by the resignation of Al Henager. Browning previously was appointed by the board to fill the vacant seat and will now seek to be elected for the two years remaining on it.
The two incumbent candidates filed for full terms and seek to be elected for a full six-year term while Browning is seeking election to complete the remaining two years of a full term.
Continuing trustees are  John Brooks, Hutsonville; Barbara Shimer, Robinson; and Jan Ridgely, Olney.
Trustee Brady Waldrop resigned from the IECC Board Dec. 19 because he had been appointed to take over the post of Lawrence County state’s attorney.
Trustees will fill this vacant seat at their January meeting at Olney Central College.
