Indians roll past Newton for 34-7 win

LAWRENCEVILLE –– Strong play on both sides of the ball led Lawrenceville High School’s football team to its first win of the season Friday night and it was a convincing one to boot. The Indians dominated on both sides of the ball and rolled to a 34-7 win over Newton in the Little Illini Conference contest at Ed Loeb Field.

Salukis rally late to beat Newton, 22-17

Two fourth-quarter scores erased a two-touchdown deficit and lifted Red Hill High School’s football team to a come-from-behind victory Friday night. The Salukis hung with host Newton for three quarters Friday night, then used a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns – and two-point conversions – to erase and 11-point deficit and pick up a 22-17 victory.
