In the girls’ meet, Newton won with a total of 158 points, followed by Olney with 109.5 and Robinson at 105 to complete the top three. Marshall (61), Casey-Westfield (43.5), Mt. Carmel (35), Red Hill (28), Paris (11) and Lawrenceville (0) rounded out the field.
Kamee Lytle led the Lady Salukis by finishing third in the shot put (31-0) and fourth in the discus (95-0), while Melina Loudermilk was fourth in the 300 hurdles (52.94), as was the 400 relay team of Madalynn Hulfachor, Austin Fisher, Lianna Hasewinkle and Madi Loudermilk (55.79) and the 800 relay team of Madi Loudermilk, Melina Loudermilk, Hulfachor and Fisher (2:00.49). Also for RHHS, Melayna Moore finished fifth in the discus (87-2) and seventh in the shot put (28-2.75), the 1600 relay team of Madi Loudermilk, Melina Loudermilk, Hasewinkle and Kyra Griesemer was fifth (4:45.04), Griesemer was sixth in the 1600 (6:03.39), the 3200 relay team of Shelbi Lukens, Lilly Weston, Gabby Przygocki and Olivia Painter was sixth (14:14.70), Fisher was seventh in the 100 (14.05) and eighth in the 200 (28.98), Ophelia Klein was seventh in the 3200 (14:29.54), Hasewinkle was seventh in the triple jump (26-4), Kendall Davis was 12th in the 200 (31.74) and 15th in the 100 (15.23), Weston was 13th in the 400 (1:20.25) and 14th in the long jump (11-7.5), Przygocki was 13th in the 800 (3:47.34) and Painter was 14th in the 800 (4:05.11).
Lawrenceville was led by the 400 relay team of Illizalyn Jones, Delaney Bach, Brilyn Yarber and Bethany Ruppel that finished seventh (59.90), while Jones was eighth in the high jump (4-2), 11th in the long jump (12-7.25) and 12th in the 100 (15.06). Dakota Sanders was eighth in the high jump (4-2) and 15th in the discus (55-1), Ruppel was 10th in the 400 (1:12.82) and 13th in the 100 (15.14), Reese Tracy was 11th in the 800 (3:08.57), Keely Breen was 12th in the shot put (25-0.5), Brilyn Yarber was 13th in the long jump (12-0.5), Mackenzey Newlin was 16th in the discus (43-9) and Brilynn Siegle was 17th in the shot put (18-2.5).
In the boys’ meet, Olney won the team title with 155 points, followed by Newton with 148. Robinson was next with 116, while Paris (41), Casey-Westfield (39), Marshall (25), Mt. Carmel (22), Lawrenceville (5) and Red Hill (3) completed the field.
For Lawrenceville, the 400 relay team of Parker Hardiman, Zaidan Morrison, Kolby Stoops and Tanner Waller finished fifth (48.14), as did the 3200 relay team of Simon Crawford, Thomas Shinkle, Ethan Lake and Seth Seitzinger (10:35.77), while Hardiman placed sixth in the triple jump (35-8), 10th in the long jump (17-3.5) and 13th in the 100 (12.82).
Also for the Indians, Waller was seventh in the long jump (18-0) and 11th in the 100 (12.70), Stoops was 10th in the 200 (25.94), Seitzinger was 10th in the 1600 (5:38.36), Shinkle was 11th in the 800 (2:33.12), Mason Callahan was 11th in the 400 (1:05.94), Conor Lill was 12th in the discus (82-4), Morrison was 12th in the 400 (1:11.07), Crawford was 12th in the 1600 (5:54.93) and Lake was 15th in the 800 (2:45.82).
For the Salukis, Reece Ralston was fifth in the 300 hurdles (46.81), while the 1600 relay team of Andrew Rumley, Ralston, James Lockhart and Leonard Schulz was sixth (4;27.60).
Also for RHHS, the 400 relay team of Brayden Green, Ralston, Rumley and Sam Stimler was seventh (49.09), the 800 relay team of Rumley, Ralston, Green and Stimler was seventh (1:47.55), Stimler was ninth in the 100 (12.60), Lockhart was ninth in the 400 (1:03.72), Green was ninth in the 800 (2:23.88), Ethyn Tarr was ninth in the discus (92-9), Zaykk Mills was 10th in the discus (92-1), Leonard Schulz was 11th in the 1600 (5:53.88) and 13th in the 800 (2:37.52) and Rumley was 13th in the 200 (26.92).
The meet concluded the regular season for all teams, with the exception of Lawrenceville’s boys, who competed at the Fairfield Invitational Monday and finished 13th out of 13 teams.
The Indians scored just four points in the meet, while Newton won with 164. Fairfield (131), Webber Township (59), Flora (56), Hamilton County (44), Carmi (28), Johnston City (27), Mt. Carmel (22), Eldorado (20), Christopher (18), Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (6) and Pope County (5) completed the field.
Top finisher for LHS was the 3200 relay team of Crawford, Seitzinger, Shinkle and Dominic Wells (10:36.59), while Hardiman finished sixth in the long jump (18-2.25) and triple jump (35-5).
Also for the Indians, the 400 relay team of Hardiman, Stoops, Lill and Waller finished seventh (49.39), Waller was 10th in the long jump (17-8) and 11th in the 100 (12.10), Crawford was 11th in the 1600 (5:58.72), Morrison was 12th in the 400 (1:04.65), Shinkle was 12th in the 800 (2:35.94), Stoops was 12th in the shot put (33-6) and 14th in the 200 (25.57), Lake was 14th in the 800 (2:50.09) and Hardiman was 15th in the 200 (25.68).
Lawrenceville and Red Hill’s boys’ teams will compete in the IHSA Class 1A Newton Sectional Wednesday, May 18, at 4 p.m., while both girls’ teams competed in the IHSA Class 1A Sectional at Altamont Wednesday.
