Lady Salukis beat Casey-Westfield in LIC tourney opener, 42-17

PARIS –– Round two between Red Hill High School’s girls’ basketball team and Casey-Westfield went nothing like the first game, which turned out to be a good thing for the Lady Salukis. After dropping a one-point decision (35-34) in their Little Illini Conference regular season meeting Dec. 9, Red Hill turned things around in the rematch Thursday, as they rolled to a 42-17 win in the opening round of the LIC Tournament at Paris High School.

During the recent Little Illini Conference Tournament, the Lady Indians went 1-2 and scored a total of 77 points in those three games, including 29 total in a pair of losses. The latest of those defeats came Wednesday, Jan. 19, as the Lady Indians fell to Newton, 48-20, in a consolation semifinal.
