The annual livestock auction will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Livestock Show Arena. Youth must be in an animal class to show at the auction. All youth may sell one market animal or dairy product and all animals must belong to the youth selling it. Youth are responsible for their animal after the auction until the buyer has taken actual possession.
Requirements for participation in the auction include:
• Must be from Lawrence County.
• Must exhibit in the Lawrence County Jr. Fair.
• Must be a market animal.
• Must turn in auction card at time of check-in or by the conclusion of the livestock show.
Due to the state ban of poultry shows, there will be no poultry sold at this year’s auction.
All who wish to participate in the auction must let the superintendent know what animal you will be selling at the auction. Each animal needs an ear tag number.
Auction checks will be available as soon as buyers have paid. All auction checks will be mailed to the youth. All youth must fill out a thank you to the buyer before leaving the livestock auction.
All buyers should pay the Lawrence County Youth Livestock Auction and not the individual. This process allows an auction fee that is deducted and for the buyers who add-on to the buying price.
Youth may stay informed by following the Lawrence County Youth Livestock Auction Facebook page for additional information about the 2022 Livestock Auction.
