SPRING BRANCH, Texas — Lottie May (Crozier) Brockbank, Spring Branch, Texas, formerly of Flat Rock, died on March 27, 2021 at the Creekside Personal Care Home where she had lived for the last few years. Lottie was 102 years old at her passing.

Lottie will be cremated and as per her wishes, there will be no service, no flowers, no cards and no donations to charities. If desired, a note of appreciation can be made for the exemplary care Lottie received during the last years of her life. The following is a list of arrests and vehicle accidents within Lawrence County for the dates of April 14 - April 20.

The second annual 5k/10k Valerie Stevens Memorial Scholarship run, held in honor of Valerie Stevens, was held on April 17 at Lanterman Park in Bridgeport. Despite the rain, a large number of participants turned out to support the event. All proceeds from the race will be used towards scholarships for Red Hill High School and Lawrenceville High School seniors.

These top performing students are selected annually based on their ACT or SAT exams and sixth semester class rank and are recognized for their exceptional academic achievement. Illinois State Scholars rank in approximately the top 10% of graduates from Illinois high schools.
