Lawrenceville, Jul. 12, 1987 - Ill. — Jul. 1, 2022Lora Cook, 87, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at Carle Richland Hospital in Olney, IL. Lora was born on January 15, 1935, in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Kimble) DeLong.
She married Donald Cook on August 21, 1965, in Lawrenceville, IL.
Lora was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked at Hedde's Drug Store in Lawrenceville for several years. After she had children, she spent the rest of her life as a homemaker. Lora enjoyed going to Ellis Park and the casinos with her husband, Don. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and programs.
Lora is survived by: her husband- Donald; her son- Brian Cook and wife LeighAnn of Lawrenceville; her daughter- Saundra Hough and husband Joe of Olney; grandchildren- Drew Wilson, Katie and Courtney Cook of Lawrenceville, Jerrison and Gentry Hough of Olney; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by: her parents- Charles and Martha DeLong; a son- John Charles; her two sisters and spouses- Maxine Brewington and husband Harold and Irma and husband William Feicht.
Funeral services were held at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Burial took place in Bridgeport City Cemetery.
