Phyllis "Ann" (Ridgley) Ammon Deisher

MOUNT CARMEL — Phyllis “Ann” (Ridgley) Ammon Deisher, age 81 of St. Francisville, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2021 at her son’s home in Mt. Carmel.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1939 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Ruth Elenor (Buchanan) Ridgley and John Carol Ridgley. Ann married Charles Ammon on Sept. 29, 1957 at the Free Methodist Church in St. Francisville; after his death in 2005 she married David Deisher on July 7, 2007 at the Free Methodist Church in St. Francisville.       

Ann was a dedicated and faithful lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church in St. Francisville. Ann loved spending time cooking and enjoying the company of her family and friends.

Ann is survived by: her loving sons, David Ammon and wife Kay of Mt. Carmel; Dennis Ammon of St. Francisville; and Darryl Ammon of St. Francisville; two step-daughters, Crystal Deisher of Princeton, Indiana; and Carie Hough of West Salem; one step-son, Derek Deisher and wife Stacy; grandchildren, Sara James and husband Kenton of New York; Andrea Ammon of Lawrenceville; Ashley Amczyk and husband Derek of Lowell, Indiana; Brooklyn Woods of Evansville, Indiana; Savanah Ammon of Mt. Carmel; Austin Ammon of Mt. Carmel; Tia Carie and husband Joel of Vincennes, Indiana; Tamara Ammon of St. Francisville; Charles Ammon of St. Francisville; and Dani Padget and husband Ross of St. Francisville; step-grandchildren, Christopher Rodgers and wife Heather of Florida; Jaycen Jarvis and wife Tiela of West Salem; Jake Jarvis and wife Cambria of West Salem; Josh Jarvis and fiancé Brianna; and Robin Rodgers; and great-grandchildren, Kayla Ammon of Hammond, Indiana; Kaylee Ammon of Hammond, Indiana; Gracie Lamb of Vincennes, Indiana; Zoey Carie of Vincennes, Indiana; Zane Carie of Vincennes, Indiana; Lilly Catt of St. Francisville; Megan Ammon of Indiana; Ava Ammon of Indiana; Charles Ammon of St. Francisville; Roland Padget of St. Francisville; Miriam Padget of St. Francisville; Lillian Rodgers of Florida; Christopher Rodgers of Florida; Scarlet Ann Rodgers of Florida; Conner James of New York; Carter Woods of Evansville, Indiana; Arabella Woods of Evansville, Indiana; Jarryn and Kynsley of West Salem; and Mackenzie Rodgers of West Salem.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Charles on Oct. 4, 2005; her son, Donald Ray Ammon on May 5, 2003; and her second husband, David Deisher on Dec. 3, 2016.   

The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church in St. Francisville.

There will be a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville.

The second annual 5k/10k Valerie Stevens Memorial Scholarship run, held in honor of Valerie Stevens, was held on April 17 at Lanterman Park in Bridgeport. Despite the rain, a large number of participants turned out to support the event. All proceeds from the race will be used towards scholarships for Red Hill High School and Lawrenceville High School seniors.

These top performing students are selected annually based on their ACT or SAT exams and sixth semester class rank and are recognized for their exceptional academic achievement. Illinois State Scholars rank in approximately the top 10% of graduates from Illinois high schools.
