RHJH girls split, PJHS wins one of six recently



Wins were few and far between for junior high girls’ basketball teams from Lawrence County recently.

Against Martinsville April 6, Red Hill won the seventh grade game 16-11 and lost the eighth grade game 18-14.

In the seventh grade game, Rylee Moore led RHJH (5-1) with seven points, while Bailey Sweeney posted four, Caitlee Gray and McKenzie Reeves netted two apiece and Alaynah Hulfachor scored one.

In the eighth grade game, Paige Hill led RHJH (0-6) with seven points, while Kasey Plummer posted three and Whitley McCaslin and Peyton Livesay each scored two.

Meanwhile, Parkview dropped both games to Olney April 7, losing the eighth grade game 40-28 and the seventh grade game 39-28.

In the eighth grade game, Bri Yarber led PJHS with 14 points, while Mallory Lockhart and Keely Breen each posted four, Kenna Thacker and Gracie Hughes netted two apiece and Addeline Sanders and Addy Brush each scored one.

In the seventh grade game, Sanders led PJHS with 26 points, while Sydney Mack posted two.

Parkview was also swept by Marshall in games April 8, losing the eighth grade game 41-30 and the seventh grade game 31-17.

In the eighth grade game, Yarber led PJHS with 13 points, while Brush posted seven, Lockhart and Breen netted three apiece and Thacker and Hughes each scored two.

In the seventh grade game, Sanders led PJHS with 11 points while Emilee Turner posted four and Mack netted two.

On Monday, Parkview split with Robinson, winning the eighth grade game 48-36 and losing the seventh grade game 31-15.

In the eighth grade game, Yarber led PJHS (7-2) with 26 points, while Lockhart tossed in 10, Hughes and Breen netted four points apiece and Ruppel and Brush each scored two.

In the seventh grade game, Sanders led PJHS (2-7) with 11 points, while Elaina Hoke and Kenlee Dohoney each scored two.

Red Hill played at Palestine-Hutsonville Tuesday and will next play at Oblong Tuesday (April 20) at 6 p.m. Parkview will play at Jasper County Thursday at 6 p.m.
