With the regular season winding down this week, focus will quickly shift toward the postseason, which starts next week for local baseball and softball teams.
Both baseball teams from Crawford County find themselves not only in the same class, but also in the same bracket, as both Robinson and Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville have been placed in the IHSA Class 2A Newton Regional. Meanwhile, two of the three local softball teams will not have to leave the county during the first round of the postseason, as Oblong is hosting an IHSA Class 1A Regional and Hutsonville-Palestine is also in that field. Robinson, on the other hand, has been slotted in the IHSA Class 2A Salem Regional.
