The week opened with an eight-inning game between the Body Builders Cardinals and the TJ Tingley State Farm Insurance Cubs Monday night, which the Cardinals wound up winning, 7-6.
The Cubs held a 4-3 lead going into the sixth inning, but the Cardinals scored twice in the top of the sixth to take a 5-4 lead, only for the Cubs to rally for a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the score and force extra innings. After a scoreless seventh, the Cardinals plated two runs in the top of the eighth to take a 7-5 lead. The Cubs again rallied for a run, but were unable to get the tying run across the plate and the Cardinals held on for the win.
Deek Thompson led the Cardinals with three singles, three runs batted in and two runs scored, while Greyson Hardiman doubled, singled and scored two runs, Radlee Mehler singled twice and drove in a run, Pyke Nethery posted a base hit, two runs batted in and a run scored, and Ruxin Mehler and Bowen Siler each scored a run.
Kingston Scott earned the win in relief, allowing an unearned run, walking one and striking out one in two-thirds of an inning. Dagg Thompson got the save, allowing a hit and striking out one in two-thirds of an inning. Hardiman started on the mound, giving up three unearned runs on one hit, while walking two and striking out one in one and two-thirds innings. Deek Thompson threw five innings of relief, giving up two unearned runs on two hits, while walking two and striking out 10.
Noah Myers led the Cubs with three singles, two runs scored and a run batted in, while Chase Peterson-Myers singled and scored a run, Chase Queen and Cooper Dix each drove in a run and Aaron Truitt, Ryan Truitt and Jason Tingley each scored a run.
Aaron Truitt was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits, while walking two and striking out seven in five and two-thirds innings of relief. Cooper Knoblett started and went two and one-third innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on one hit, while walking five and striking out two.
On Tuesday night, the First Robinson Savings Bank/C&E Property Group Orioles downed the Eagle Theater/Hershey Mariners, 9-2.
The Orioles led 4-1 after one inning and 7-2 after three, then tacked on two more runs in the fifth to seal the win.
Jaxon Hires led the Orioles with two singles, two runs scored and a run batted in, while Draxton Wood singled twice, drove in a run and scored a run. Jetson Hoalt doubled, knocked in two runs and scored two runs, Kale Pasero singled and scored two runs, Kaden Pasero singled and scored a run, JJ Markello doubled and Ben McDonald knocked in a run and scored a run.
Kale Pasero was the winning pitcher, allowing two unearned runs on two hits, while walking one and striking out five in two innings of work. Hires allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three in three scoreless innings of relief and Hoalt struck out two of the three batters he faced in a perfect inning of work.
Walker McDowell led the Mariners with a single and a run scored, while Felix Reynolds singled twice, Cooper Stark and Kellen Fuller added a base hit apiece and Ayden Tuel scored a run.
Reynolds suffered the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs (three earned) on seven hits, while walking one and striking out six in three innings of work. Tuel walked one and struck out one in a scoreless inning of work and Fuller gave up two unearned runs on one hit and struck out three in an inning of relief.
