Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist
On Sunday, Flat Rock FMB will receive its monthly loose pocket change for World Hunger.
Sunday, Sept. 14, Betty’s Women On Mission Group will meet at the church at 6 p.m. This is open to all young girls and women interested in community outreach.
During September, the church will receive its annual Mission Illinois offering which supports Southern Baptist missionaries and mission causes in Illinois. The Week of Prayer for this cause is Sept. 12-19.
Plans are underway for a group from the church to attend the Baptist Children’s Home Fall Festival in Carmi on Sept. 18. Free puppy ears will be prepared and served to those who attend the festival.
Pastor J.D. Branson’s Sunday morning messages continue to be available live on Facebook at approximately 10:15 a.m. Thursdays at 6 p.m., Branson leads a Bible study which can be viewed live on Facebook.

Robinson First Christian Disciples of Christ
Ben Ross will be delivering the message at the Sunday service at 9 a.m. followed by a time of fellowship. Judy Holton is the pianist.
The church is located at 11235 North Trimble Road, Robinson.

Oblong First Baptist
Pastor Justin Sweitzer announced that during the business meeting on Sept. 12 the teachers and staff for the new church year will be voted on.
Sept. 18 is the Fall Festival for the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services ministry on the Carmi campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 is the PBA Executive Board Meeting at Island Grove Church.
Church times areBible study Sunday at 9:30 a.m. followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. Evening services are at 6 p.m. on Sunday and Wednesday. SWAT and SWORDS groups meet at 6 p.m. each Wednesday.

Crawford County Catholics
St. Elizabeth will have a Finance Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Parish Center.
Our Lady of Lourdes will have a Finance Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
During the month of October, the rosary will be prayed before the beginning of Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
There are two parishes; St. Elizabeth in Robinson and Our Lady of Lourdes in Oblong. Both parishes are administered by Fr. Suresh Sambaturu at the Catholic Parish Center near the Community Center in Robinson.
Mass times for St. Elizabeth are as follows; weekly masses are on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday at noon; Wednesdays Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is from 8-10 a.m., Saturday vigil mass, 4:30 p.m. and Sunday masses, 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish masses include: Sunday mass at 9 a.m. and confessions on Saturdays from 3-4 p.m. at St. Elizabeth or by appointment.

Robinson Free Methodist
Sunday service begins at 10:30 a.m.
The church is open for those who need to see Pastor Aaron Peternel or wish to come and pray. Simply call the church at 618-544-7531 to make an appointment.
Prayers Over Crawford County and video devotional are available at www.robfmc.com and Facebook. Get encouragement from your pastor on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Narcotics Anonymous meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. If you have any questions, please see Amanda Sisil. Anyone is welcomed to attend.

Asylum Youth and Children’s Ministry starts at 6:15 p.m. for the meal and 6:30 p.m. for program time. There is no van service.
A Book Study “Dangerous Prayers” by Craig Groeschel will begin on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
The church is starting a Bible study on the book of Acts. If you are interested please see Peternel or Kathy Chamblin. The group will meet on Fridays at 9 a.m.
Robinson First United Methodist
The church offers two in-person worship services on Sunday.The first service begins at 9 a.m. Masks will be required for this service and it will also be streamed on www.robinsonfumc.org, on YouTube, and on WTYE 101.7 FM. At 10:30 a.m., there will be an in-person worship service where masks will be optional.
This Sunday Pastor Jay Regennitter will be preaching and Marcia Schmidlin will be serving as liturgist. Sunday school for all ages will meet in person and via Zoom at 10:15 a.m. To receive a Zoom invitation link, contact the church office.
On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the Invitation to Genesis class will meet at 6:30 p.m. both in-person and via Zoom. On Wednesday, Sept. 15, Refresh Breakfast and Bible Study will meet at 6:30 a.m., Kids’ Club will be at 3 p.m., NOW Weekend Bagging will be at 4 p.m., all church committees will meet at 6 p.m., and church council will meet at 7 p.m. On Thursday, Sept. 16, the Invitation to Genesis class will meet at 9:30 a.m. and Glory Handbell rehearsal will be at 6 p.m.

December 7, 2021I am just now concluding that narcissism is a virus that has infected everybody in the world that is breathing air. I even apply this to my own life with a great deal of regret.
Nobody wants to admit they have narcissistic leanings in their life. And yet, if you listen to them, and even listen to yourself, you will see it. I did not know how aggravating it was, but I was to learn pretty soon.
