In game one of the doubleheader, the Subway/Midwest Transport Diamondbacks beat the Dog N Suds/Weber Title White Sox, 6-2.
The Diamondbacks grabbed an early lead with three runs in the top of the first, then after the White Sox scored a run in the second, the Diamondbacks added a run in the third and two more in the fifth for a 6-1 advantage. The White Sox pushed across a run in the bottom of the fifth, but it was not enough.
Rowan Bailey led the Diamondbacks with a triple, a single, three runs scored and two runs batted in, while Kolby Nichol singled and scored a run and Ben Patchett and Cage Stuckey each scored a run.
Graysen Brown was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit, while walking one and striking out 12 in five innings of work.
Hayden Bonnell provided the offense for the White Sox with a single and two runs scored.
Colton Shipman was the losing pitcher, allowing four runs on two hits, while walking seven and striking out four in three innings of work. Bonnell tossed the final two frames, giving up two unearned runs on one hit, while walking two and striking out four.
In game two, the First National Bank Cubs rallied late to beat the Wright Furniture and Flooring Yankees, 7-3.
The Yankees led 2-1 after two innings, then the Cubs scored twice in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead, only for the Yankees to tie the game with a run in the bottom of the sixth. However, the Cubs broke through for four runs in the top of the seventh and were able to hold on for the win.
Brysen Legg led the Cubs with a triple, a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, while Lucas Blessing singled three times and scored two runs. Brody Keesling singled twice and scored two runs, Wyatt Cooper posted two singles and a run batted in, Braylon Murray singled and knocked in a run, Joel York singled and scored a run and Kaden Hout scored a run.
Murray picked up the win in relief, allowing one run on four hits, walking one and striking out six in three innings of work. Keesling started and went three innings, giving up two runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts, while Blessing allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one in a scoreless frame.
Caden Goodwin led the Yankees with three singles, a run batted in and a run scored, while Braxton Manhart tripled and drove in a run, Jameson Dix posted two singles, Brayden Turner and Landyn Bonnell each singled and scored a run and Lex Herder added a base hit.
Parker Rich was tagged with the loss in relief, allowing six runs on eight hits, while walking two and striking out three in two and two-thirds innings of work. Turner started and went four and one-third innings, giving up one run on three hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts.
