Garry D. Downing, 47, Bridgeport, died on Friday, April 2, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on June 26, 1973 in Aurora, and was the son of Garry Dee and Eleonore (Radford) Harris.
Garry worked as a carpenter all of his life.
Preceding him in death was his father and one brother, James Patrick Downing.
Survivors include his mother, Eleonore Harris and Fred, Boyd, Texas; three children, Hailey Talmage, Azle, Texas; Madison Tracy, Pinkstaff and Ethan Tracy, Robinson; three siblings, Jeff Harris and Amy, Leonard, Texas; Eric Harris and Heather, Pinkstaff; Tracy Harris and Sheryl, Fort Worth; nine half siblings, Garry D. Harris II and Ruth, Lawrenceville; Michael Harris and Allison, Millington; Sarah Ardelean and Jeff, St. Pete Beach, Fla.; Gregory Harris and Robin, Washington, Ind.; Jill Harris, Rowlett, Texas; Timothy Harris and Paige, Coplay, Pa.; Matthew Harris and Jeri, Palestine; Lynette Harris, Lawrenceville and Alicea Logan-Masters and Tim, Hale Center, Texas and maternal grandmother, Klara Radford, Killeen, Texas.
A memorial service was conducted on Thursday, April 8, at 6 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville and may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey. Visitation was held on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Drug Take Back Day set for Saturday
If you have unused or unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medication that you’re ready to get rid of Saturday will be a good time to do it. Crawford Memorial Hospital will take part in National Drug Take Back Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the East Entrance of the hospital.
