Rain was the ultimate winner, but two of three Robinson Dynamite travel softball teams still managed to end their seasons on positive notes at rain-shortened tournaments over the weekend.
Three teams – 12-under, 10-under, 8-under – all participated in the USSSA Future Stars Tournament in Jasper, Ind., over the weekend and came away with mixed results.
The 10-under team fared the best, as they won all three of their games and were declared champions of their bracket after the remainder of the tournament was washed out.
Dynamite opened with a 7-2 win over Indiana Elite Saturday, then later scored a 5-4 win over Kentucky Lightning.
Against Indiana Elite, the score was tied 1-1 after one inning and 2-2 after two, but Dynamite exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third to pull away for the win.
