A former resident of the Oblong Christian Children’s Home is dead, apparently the victim of a murder/suicide attempt in Clarksville, Ky.
Tabitha Chambers Collard, 26, who lived at the children’s home about 10 years ago, died Monday, Dec. 20, according to Clarksville police.
Collard, a solider at Fort Campbell, Ky., was found dead from gunshot wounds after police were called to a Clarksville residence for a welfare check. They also found a wounded man at the scene.
The unnamed man is believed to be responsible for the homicide, according to Clarksville Police. He was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. At last report, he remained in critical condition.
Police said they believe the man attempted to take his own life after shooting Collard.
