Janice Kay Welsh-Allsenberrie

Posted on August 3, 2022

Robinson, Ill. — Janice Kay Welsh Allsenberrie, 86, was born April 11, 1936, to Wayne and Vernice (Dudley) Welsh. God called her to heaven on July 19, 2022, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Penni, and Ken Ivey, in Purcellville, VA, where she had recently relocated. She was surrounded by love in her last months of life which was her greatest wish.

Janice graduated from Robinson High School in 1954 and went on to obtain a degree in administrative studies then worked in prominent law firms in Ithaca, NY and Washington, DC as she continued to raise her family which was her first love. Janice returned to Robinson, IL in 1998 to take care of her aging parents where she was employed at the Robinson Community Center and worked there until she retired. During those years, she followed in her father’s footsteps and ran for County Clerk. Janice was a strong contender, however, withdrew her candidacy citing her mother’s failing health.

As her dearest childhood friend said, Janice is one of the kindest, sweetest, and most loyal people she has ever known; always there for her family and friends, had a beautiful smile, kind thoughts and a desire to always do what was good and right to all; this is what she lived by.

Janice is survived by her husband, James Allsenberrie, of Robinson, IL, Greg (Esmeralda) Ballinger of Berkley Springs, VA; Terri (Mark) Palovick of Marietta, GA; Penni (Ken) Ivey of Purcellville, VA; Frank (Cindy) Ballinger of Ashburn, VA; Lori (Bradley) Nairne of Oakton, VA and John Ballinger of Robinson, IL. She is also survived by sixteen living grandchildren; three grandchildren, her brother and one nephew who were called to heaven before her, and fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as six nieces and nephews, and several cousins all whom she loved dearly.

We will miss her, but we know she is with God, and we will be reunited with her again one day. A memorial service will be held in Purcellville, VA on September 18, 2022, at 1 pm ET at the Chapel at Hall Funeral Home followed by interment in Hillsboro cemetery and a celebration of life gathering at the home of Penni and Ken Ivey.
