Two good quarters were not enough to erase two bad ones for Lincoln Trail College’s women’s basketball team Saturday.

The Lady Statesmen won the first and fourth quarters, but were outscored by 20 points in the middle two periods, resulting in a 68-61 loss to Rend Lake College.

Lincoln Trail led 14-11 after one quarter, but were outscored 24-15 in the second period for a 35-29 halftime deficit. The Lady Statesmen were then outscored 25-14 in the third quarter to make the score 60-43, then LTC won the fourth quarter 18-8, but it was too little, too late.

Jordan Scroggins led LTC with 23 points, three rebounds, one steal and one assist, while Graycie Poe posted 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. Dasani Williamson contributed eight points, seven rebounds and one assist, Hanna Dawson totaled six points, six rebounds and one steal, Faith O’Handley collected four points, six rebounds and one assist, Amonye Allen recorded three points, two steals and one rebound, AJ Johnson tallied two points and three rebounds, Chloe Sprinkle netted two points and two rebounds and Alaysia Divine added two points, two assists and one rebound.

Four players reached double figures for Rend Lake, led by Ashlyn Childers with 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot. Cassidy Morris contributed 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, Aliyah Thilavanh posted 11 points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal and Lezhauria Williams totaled 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Lincoln Trail (3-16, 1-7 GRAC, 1-7 Region 24) is scheduled to play at Southwestern Illinois College Wednesday at 5 p.m.
