Hutsonville CUSD 1 met for the monthly meeting and hired a coach and aides.
Following the executive session, the board hired Joey O’Rourke as the voluntary 5th and 6th grade basketball coach.
They also approved the hire of two aides, Diana Dart and Kimberly Smith.
Board members will begin asking for the communities input in regards to the ESSER ARP grant throughout the next few monthly meetings.
Hutsonville CUSD 1 Superintendent Julie Kraemer stated to the board that she will begin working on the 2022-23 school calendar. She will work on a tentative calendar with other schools in the county and a recommendation for it will be made at the February or March meeting.
An update on the FY 22 was approved. The budget was built in July and approved by board members before the end of the first quarter of the year.
The budget was based on funding from the state. The final fund balances for the FY 21 year will all depend on the payments from the state that they should receive by June 30. It will also reflect the amount the district receives for CPPRT and ESSA money.
Kraemer gave an update on the legal issue with ISBE and the district’s status.
“We lost the appeal based on the narrow scope of ISBE’s new emergency rules and are currently working on a ‘Corrective Action’ plan that will be adopted Jan. 24,” Kraemer said.
The plan will be submitted to ISBE on Jan. 25. ISBE will have 15 days to approve or deny the plan.
