Evansville, Jun. 22, 1948 - Ind. — Dec. 25, 2022Linda Elaine Parker, 74, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. She was born June 22, 1948 in Oblong, IL to Retha (Smith) Spaugh and the late Lloyd "Pete" Spaugh.

Linda graduated from Oblong High School in 1966. She worked as a legal secretary for 10 years before she started working for the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court system, where she retired after working 25 years in 2006. Linda attended Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Oblong. She was an avid reader and carried a Kindle or book at all times. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard K. Parker; son, Derek (Melanie) Parker; grandchildren, Kirsten E. Parker and Andrew K. Parker; sisters, Colleen (Rey) Becker, Suellen (John) Lewis and Debbie (Dave) Earlewine; brother, Jay Spaugh; mother, Retha Spaugh; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd "Pete" Spaugh.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, 106 W. Missouri St., Oblong, IL 62449. A Memorial Celebration of Life service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be at the Oblong Cemetery in Oblong, IL.
