Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. It destroys the brain but leaves the body able to function. In some cases, it is a years-long battle with little treatment and no cure. Our family would like to thank those who helped us get through this disease. Debra Grissom, Debra Weger and the Care givers group, C.J. Harvey, Keisha Lewis and all the wonderful people at Arbor Rose Memory Care Home. Her niece Karen McCurdy, and Ashton Young, Good Samaritan Hospice nurse were there for us in Marilyn's final hours.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Donald R. Kirk, a son, Warren R. Kirk, Robinson, IL, a brother and sister-in-law, James and Margaret Whitmore, Mahomet, IL and a sister, Mrs. Myrna Bame, Rogers, AR, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Whitmore.
