Catherine L. “Kate” Myers

Catherine L. “Kate” Myers, 84, Flat Rock, died May 2, 2021, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.

She was born on July 27, 1936, in Hunt City Township, rural Jasper County, the daughter of Morton Vern Lowe and Lulu Pearl (Mann) Lowe, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law & mother-in-law, William Andy Myers & Ora L. (Mason) Myers; by her children, Danny Joe Myers, Patricia Monroe Conrad, and Linda Myers; as well as a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband Dean Myers; by her sons, Gary Matheney and Don Matheney; by her daughter & son-in-law, Verna & James Patterson; by her grandchildren; by her step-grandchildren; by her great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Kate grew up in the Oblong area, where her father worked in the oil fields. On May 28, 1957, she married Dean Myers, and from there on, her life was dedicated to tending to her house and all those who called it” home”. 
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 6th, at the Oblong Cemetery. Memorials may be made to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital”, with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
