OPH played non-conference games at Dieterich Friday and Edwards County Saturday and came out on the wrong end of both decisions, losing at Dieterich, 59-35 and at Albion, 59-24.
Against Dieterich, OPH fell behind 21-7 after one quarter and never recovered. OPH trailed 33-20 at halftime and 48-30 after three quarters, then lost the fourth quarter 11-5 to reach the final margin.
Riley Blank led OPH with nine points, while Graydon Kincaid posted eight, RJ Hays and Max Lewis each contributed four, Caden Goodwin scored three, Callum Roeder, Rowan Bailey and Devin Lawyer netted two points apiece and Will Callaway added one.
Caleb Gephart led Dieterich with 21 points, while Lucas Westendorf scored 14 and Kolton Kidd netted 13.
OPH did win the junior varsity game, 44-43.
Blank led OPH with 15 points, while Kincaid scored 10.
Against Edwards County, OPH trailed 21-9 after one quarter, 33-14 at halftime and 55-23 after three quarters, then lost the fourth quarter 4-1 with the clock running continuously throughout the period due to the IHSA’s 30-point mercy rule.
Holden Sipes led OPH with six points, while Kincaid tossed in five, Lewis scored four, Blank and Bailey each netted three, Roeder added two and Aiden Postlewaite had one.
Anjuan Rhodes led Edwards County with 26 points, while Ryder Bell and Cash Conner were also in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
OPH again won the JV game, 43-29.
Blank led OPH with 14 points, while Kincaid also cracked double figures with 10.
Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville (3-19) was scheduled to play host to Effingham Tuesday and is slated to play host to Eminence, Ind., Friday at 5 p.m.
