Back-to-back games earlier this week resulted in a win and a loss for Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville’s boys’ basketball team.

Lady Maroons edge Olney, 44-43, for third place at LIC tourney
Bouncing back from a rough outing Tuesday night was the goal for Robinson High School’s girls’ basketball team Thursday night and they did that, although it took them a bit longer than they had hoped. The Lady Maroons were able to erase the memory of Tuesday night’s loss to top-seeded Paris in the semifinals of the Little Illini Conference Tournament by rebounding for a 44-43 win over Olney in the third-place game at Paris High School.
Statesmen score pair of one-point wins
Close contests continue to be the norm for Lincoln Trail College’s men’s basketball team since they have returned from the holiday break, but the difference this week was the Statesmen came out on the positive end of things. After dropping their first two games of 2022, the Statesmen pulled out a pair of victories in a three-day span, albeit by the narrowest of margins.
RHS wrestlers win dual at North Knox, 54-30
Wrestling their first dual match in a month did not seem to phase Robinson High School’s wrestling team Wednesday night. The Maroons have returned to the mats following a lengthy layoff due to the holidays and some COVID-19 issues and were able to come up with a big win on the road, as they downed North Knox, Ind., 54-30.
