Robinson, Apr. 23, 1923 - Ill. — Aug. 28, 2022Robinson-- Rhea Glenn, 99, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Sunday August 28, 2022, following a long period of failing health. She was born in Flat Rock, Illinois, April 23, 1923, to Joel L. and Arkie (Montgomery) Moorhead.

Rhea was the last surviving member of the "Moorhead Merrymakers—Entertainers De Luxe." This all-family act entertained crowds for more than 30 years in performances from northern Illinois to Florida. Their audiences included churchgoers, club members, governors and attendees of the annual Old York Reunion and political rallies for both Democrats and Republicans—to name a few. Rhea specialized in impersonations, wearing a kimono and oriental makeup as Shanghai Lil' and dressing as a Hobo for Saint James Infirmary Blues. Her interpretation of Oh, How She Can Dance! was a dependable show- stopper. Throughout her long life, Rhea brought joy to countless audiences, performing solos while accompanying herself on the piano. The consummate entertainer, she made sure the show always went on and took pride in being able to play any song by ear.

Beloved by her community, she was awarded the Palestine Citizen of the Year and was declared Queen of Trimble in 2020. She received her GED later in life and was as proud of that achievement as if she had graduated college. She drove a school bus for the Palestine, IL Unit 3, school district and loved to tell stories of her many adventures on the country roads in winter and the children on her bus route. She believed in hard work and made sure her children knew its value and its rewards. A great storyteller, she entertained her visitors with many tales, including supervising the moving of their corn-cob house in Trimble, her escapades as accompanist for her husband's band, their magic act, and the ill-fated family root beer stand enterprise and her one and only flight in Don's Cessna airplane. Her many nieces and nephews will so miss the laughter and love she brought to their lives and the link to a simpler, more honest time she represented.

She married Don Richard Glenn, January 10, 1938, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Thomas Sheridan Glenn; four sisters and one brother. She is survived by two daughters Donna Sue Davis of Trabuco Canyon, CA and Sally Glenn Lee (Tom) of Coto de Caza, CA; grandchildren; Susan JoLynne Platamone (Paul), South Lake, TX, Jamie Carol Casey (Scott), Dove Canyon, CA; Kristina Suzanne Theodorou, San Diego, CA; Abigail Lauren Casey, Dove Canyon, CA; Joseph Christopher Theodorou, Panama City Beach, FL; two great grandchildren Bodie James Theodorou and Tatiana Lee Negrete, Coto De Casa, CA. plus many nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Rhea's Life will be held Saturday September 3, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Mike Ward officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at 2:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations PINEHAVEN Christian Children's Ranch, P O Box 940, St. Ignatius, Mt with envelopes available at the funeral home.
