Ralph E. and Mary Alice Richards

Mrs. Mary Alice (Montgomery) Richards died April 26, 2005, at her son’s residence in San Diego, Calif. with her husband Ralph E. Richards and their son Greg and daughter-in-law Lynette at her bedside. She was 87 years old.
Ralph E. “Rasty” Richards, 103 years old, died at his son’s residence in San Diego, Calif. on March 26, 2018, following a long series of ailments.
As age became more of a factor in their lives, Ralph and Mary moved from Robinson to San Diego, Calif. in 1996 to be near their son and daughter-in-law.
Following his honorable discharge from the United States Army in 1945 Ralph began employment with W. A. Case/Briggs Pottery. Robinson. On Oct. 15, 1949, Ralph and Mary were married and spent 55 years as husband and wife. Ralph worked at Briggs Pottery for 40 years until his retirement and was a life member of VFW Post 4549 and E. M. Coulter Post 69 American Legion, Robinson.
While Ralph was serving in uniform in WWII, Mary, like a lot of other young women, contributed her part to the war effort by working in the Republic Aviation P-47 Thunderbolt factory in Evansville. Following the war and after her marriage to Ralph, Mary worked for L. S. Heath and Sons Candy Company and later retired from Victor Dana Corp in 1982.
Ralph and Mary are survived by a son Gregory Richards, San Diego, Calif. Preceding Ralph in death was his beloved daughter-in-law Lynette Richards in 2019. Preceding them in death were Ralph’s brothers and sisters in law, Ova and Helen Richards, Paul and Geneva Richards and a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Dean Thompson. Preceding Mary Alice were her brothers and sisters in law Don “Zeke” and Voncille Montgomery, Ausby and Maude Montgomery and Earnest Montgomery. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday July 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Annapolis. The family requests memorials be made to the Veteran’s Transportation Fund, 711 East Main St., Robinson, IL, 62454 with envelopes available at the graveside or at the funeral home.
Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of these arrangements.

Lynda Ann Mccoy, 82, Robinson, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, following a long period of declining health. Service arrangements are pending with Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson.
