In pool play Saturday, Robinson downed McCutchanville (7-4) and Linton (7-2).
Against McCutchanville, Elliott Jansen led Robinson with a single and a run batted in, while Ryker Nantz and Asher Hoalt each singled and scored a run. Wyatt Higgins added a base hit, Lyam Stephenson drove in a run and scored a run, Trevor Spade and Dayne Fleenor posted a run batted in apiece and Mason Veach, Liam Pica, Leland Lachenmayr and Beau Knoblett each scored a run.
Jansen picked up the win in relief, walking one batter and striking out four in two scoreless innings of relief. Nantz started and went two innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on three hits, while walking three and striking out six.
Against Linton, Jansen singled and drove in three runs, while Lachenmayr and Veach posted a base hit, a run batted in and a run scored apiece. Higgins singled and scored a run, Nantz singled, Spade scored two runs and Fleenor and Stephenson each scored a run.
Lachenmayr was the winning pitcher, allowing two unearned runs on two hits, while walking two and striking out eight in two and two-thirds innings of work. Higgins went the rest of the way, retiring all four batters he faced, including three via strikeout, in one and one-third scoreless innings of relief.
On Sunday, Robinson opened with a 13-3 win over Linton, then downed South Knox in the championship game, 8-3.
Against Linton, Pica led Robinson at the plate with a double, a single and two runs batted in, while Veach singled twice, scored three runs and drove in a run. Lachenmayr singled twice, knocked in two runs and scored a run, Jansen doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run, Higgins singled, scored three runs and drove in a run, Knoblett posted a base hit and a run batted in, Hoalt singled and scored a run, Fleenor added a base hit, Nantz scored two runs and drove in a run, Stephenson knocked in a run and scored a run and Spade scored a run.
Nantz was credited with the win, allowing one hit and striking out three in a scoreless inning of work. Stephenson allowed a run on one hit, walked one and struck out three in an inning of relief, Veach gave up a run on one hit and one walk in an inning of work and Higgins struck out all three batters he faced in a perfect frame.
In the title game, Lachenmayr led Robinson with a double, two singles, two runs scored and a run batted in, while Veach singled twice, drove in two runs and scored a run. Jansen singled twice, knocked in a run and scored a run, Pica singled twice, Hoalt and Knoblett posted a base hit, a run batted in and a run scored apiece, Stephenson singled and Higgins and Spade each scored a run.
Nantz and Stephenson combined on the mound for a no-hitter, with Stephenson picking up the win in relief. Stephenson allowed one unearned run, walked three and struck out 15 in five and one-third innings of work. Nantz went two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs, walking four and striking out two.
Robinson (9-9) will play at Newton this weekend.
