Robinson’s Sanders signs with Danville Area softball

Being versatile and willing to adapt to any situation can take your far in sports and in life and that is something that has propelled Robinson High School senior Paige Sanders to reach a goal she has been dreaming of for years. Sanders recently signed a letter-of-intent to continue her softball career at Danville Area Community College next year, which is a dream come true.

The first-ever match for the Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville wrestling co-op was a successful one, as they picked up a win in the first-ever dual match for the program. OPH kicked off its season at Mt. Carmel Tuesday and came away with a 39-36 win.

RHS wrestlers open season with 59-22 win over Charleston

Depth proved to be a key factor for Robinson High School’s wrestling team in their first match of the season Monday. The Maroons placed a wrestler in every weight class, which helped RHS earn five forfeit victories out of the 10 wins they scored on the night, en route to a 59-22 win at Charleston in the season opener for both teams.

Statesmen hold off Rend Lake for 67-60 win

A strong first half propelled Lincoln Trail College’s men’s basketball team to yet another win Tuesday night, but it wasn’t easy. The Statesmen built a big first half lead, then had to stave off a late rally to score a 67-60 win over Rend Lake College in their Great Rivers Athletic Conference opener.
