New Hebron played a series of games recently to end their regular season, winning one of four.
New Hebron was swept by Carlisle, Ind., Jan. 17, losing the eighth grade game 43-18 and the seventh grade game 29-6.
In the eighth grade game, Zoe Tuttle led NHCS with seven points, while Claire Carter tallied five points. Owen Hackett contributed two points, two rebounds and two blocked shots, Isaac Booher posted two points and two rebounds, Isaac Hackett recorded two points and one rebound and Lydia Adams collected four steals, two rebounds and two assists.
In the seventh grade game, Emma Meese led NHCS with two points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Gabe Stites posted two points, three rebounds and one steal. Eddie Armijos contributed two points, one rebound and one steal, Ashton Parrish grabbed 10 rebounds, Paisley Harrell collected five rebounds and Brooklyn Venters registered three rebounds.
Against Clay City Jan. 19, NHCS won the eighth grade game 40-29 and lost the seventh grade game, 9-6.
In the eighth grade game, Owen Hackett led NHCS with 13 points, Isaac Hackett posted nine points, nine rebounds, two steals and two assists, Tuttle contributed nine points, eight steals, one assist and one blocked shot, Booher recorded five points, one rebound and one steal, Adams collected four points, seven rebounds and one steal and Carter added two assists and one steal.
In the seventh grade game, Parrish led NHCS with six points and 20 rebounds, while Harrell grabbed six rebounds, Venters tallied four rebounds and one steal, Emma Meese collected three steals and two rebounds, Violet McDonald netted two rebounds and Hutch Meese and Armijos each recorded a steal.
New Hebron was scheduled to open postseason play at the SIJHSAA Regional in Olney Tuesday against Clay City. A win would put New Hebron in Thursday’s semifinals, with the championship game slated for Monday at 6 p.m.
In their final regular season games Thursday, Nuttall Middle School dropped a pair of games at Charleston, losing the eighth grade game 52-19 and the seventh grade game 44-26.
In the eighth grade game, Cruz Dunlap led NMS with eight points, while Gunner Hoalt posted four, Brody Keesling scored three and Wyatt Herrington and Isaac Hardiman each netted two.
In the seventh grade game, Jaxon Hires led NMS with 18 points, while Joel York scored four and Kaden Pasero and Mason Mehler each added two.
The NMS seventh grade team then opened postseason play Saturday at the IESA Class 3A Red Hill Regional in Bridgeport and scored a 36-30 win over Paris Mayo.
Hires led NMS with 12 points, while Jason Tingley contributed 11, Pasero scored six, Cooper Knoblett netted five and Mehler and York added two points apiece.
Oblong also dropped a pair of games to end the regular season Thursday, falling to 38-33 to Marshall in the eighth grade game and 32-11 in the seventh grade game.
In the eighth grade game, Blake Vest led OES with 12 points, while Lucas Blessing posted 11, Colton Goad scored six and Logan Davis netted four.
In the seventh grade game, Stephen Childress led OES with four points, while Dawson Childress scored three and Wyatt Snider and Hayden Utterback each netted two.
Oblong’s seventh grade team opened postseason play IESA Class 2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional Saturday with a 46-10 loss to St. Anthony.

Also, Hutsonville-Palestine lost their final two games of the regular season at Jasper County Thursday, dropping the eighth grade game 35-19 and the seventh grade game 50-23, while the seventh grade lost to Tri-County, 2715, in the first round of the IESA Class 1A Hutsonville Regional Saturday.
