Time to file for 2023 election

The Nov. 8 general election is history. The votes have been tallied, the voting machines stored away and the newly-elected candidates sworn in and seated.
So, it’s time to start getting ready for the next election.
The 2023 consolidated election is April 4. Voters will cast ballots for municipal offices such as alderman, village board trustee and mayor, school and college board trustees and members of various park and library boards.
Candidates for the offices can begin filing their petitions with their respective election officers at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12.
The filing period runs through 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19.
The complete Candidate’s Guide is available on the State Board of Elections website at elections.il.gov.
Offices on Crawford County ballots include Robinson City Council and mayor, village board seats in Oblong, Hutsonville, Stoy, Palestine and Flat Rock, seats on all four local school boards, Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board, Robinson and Palestine library boards and LaMotte and Hutsonville park boards.
