Obituaries

Norman Leon Truelove, Sr., 82, died on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

He was born Sept. 18, 1938 in Paris, the son of John Ralph Truelove and Violet Whitkanack Truelove. On June 20, 1959 he married Mildred. J. Bertholf in Bremerton, Wash.    
Surviving are his older brother Harold L. Truelove (Abby); his younger sister Eldina Lewis, his wife of 62 years Mildred J. Truelove, Casey; daughter Ronda Wilson of Brazil, Ind.; son Norman L. Truelove (Richel), Martinsville; son Daniel P. Truelove, Casey;  son, Jeffery A. Truelove (Lori), Casey; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christina Mignon Truelove; granddaughter, Audria Mignon Truelove and son, John Eugene Truelove.   
Norman was a graduate of Marshall High School. He met his wife while serving his country in the US Navy and they soon became one, married; started life and his big family. Norman worked at Velsicol until its closing and farmed throughout his life. After Velsicol closed Norman began learning to drive a truck; he then decided to buy his own truck and eventually started his own company.  
Graveside services with military honors with Martinsville American Legion will be held privately at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, at a later date.
