Young Women LEAD offers opportunity for high school girls

Young Women LEAD (leadership, education and development) is offering local girls the opportunity to support and grow in leadership opportunities.
The single greatest barrier to leadership that is reported by young girls is self-perception, a lack of self-confidence in their own skills and competencies.
The LEAD group is offering these girls a chance to develop in their own leadership abilities and pursue goals and develop their dreams for the future.
Young women in Lawrence and Crawford counties are invited to a day-long conference for high school girls to focus on leadership, education and development. The purpose of the conference is to empower high school girls to embrace their strengths and to reach their full potentials.
The event features nationally recognized women who share their own insights on real life issues and how to overcome them to achieve successful and meaningful careers. The conference also provides an opportunity for teens to connect to and learn from local female business leaders.
Young Women LEAD is unique in its creation and purpose. The conference is organized by a local team of business leaders. This project allows the planning team to “pay it forward” in their communities.
The conference costs around $100 per attendee and organizers are currently seeking donations to help aid local students who wish to attend.
Over 50% of the future workforce will be made up of today’s generation of young women. These high school girls are the future business and civic leaders, policymakers, athletes, artists, doctors and more.
